You loved to think. Nothing wrong with that though.
But a lot, too much actually! You could have been the posterboy for overthinkers all over the world.
And it made you feel smart and like you was better than many other people in some way. So it was kind of addictive.
It trapped you in analysis paralysis when it came to social skills and relationships, to making decisions about what you wanted to do in life and to taking action and chances?
It held you back a lot in life? It made you doubt yourself and kept your self-confidence low?
One small and very simple thing that will help you to turn that around were four words.
They were: Keep things extremely simple.
And write them down on the whiteboard in your workspace at the time.
Why was this small reminder so important?
It helps you to snap out of overthinking and to question how you are thinking about things many times a day.
It helps you to stay on track, to stay consistent with being conscious about your old thought habits every day.
And it helps you because you see it so many times each day that after a couple of weeks the phrase started to sometimes pop up automatically in your mind when you started to overthink or got lost in thoughts.
If you have a tendency to overthink or to overcomplicate things then my tip is to create your own small simplifying note by using a small piece of paper or your own whiteboard.
You may not use same words exactly. But find some kind of phrase like this that resonates with you.
Then post the reminder where you can see it every day. Preferably somewhere where you see it many times each day.
It may not sound like much.
But it truly helps you to change your thinking habits and life.
Have a simpler days ahead!
